Caring in Malaysia

• Brachycephalic Frenchies struggle with Malaysia's heat and humidity. Keep walks short and set for early morning or evening, provide cool indoor spaces with fans or aircon, and never leave them in the sun.
• The short, smooth coat needs a weekly brush or soft cloth to remove loose hair. Clean the facial and tail folds regularly to stop moisture and bacteria building up in our humid climate.
• Watch for heavy panting, loud breathing, collapse or blue gums, as heatstroke is a real risk, so get to a vet immediately. Also monitor skin fold irritation, allergies and joint problems with age.
