• The dense double coat absorbs heat, so Labs need indoor living with fans or aircon. Walk them early morning or evening, avoid midday sun, and watch for heavy panting on humid days.
• Brush two to three times weekly to manage the heavy shed and keep skin healthy in humidity. Bathe when needed, dry thoroughly, and check ears after water play to prevent infections.
• Labs love food and gain weight fast, and obesity strains hips and joints. Watch for limping, stiffness after rest or reluctance to exercise, as hip dysplasia needs vet checks, especially as they age.
