Chapter 10: Storing cat food in tropical heat
Humidity and heat degrade kibble fats fast, so buy bags you can finish within six weeks and keep them sealed in an airtight container away from direct sun. Never store food beside the stove or on a balcony where temperatures spike. Transfer wet food to a covered container and refrigerate leftovers within two hours, discarding anything left out longer. Mouldy kibble or a rancid smell means the food has gone stale, even if it still looks fine.
