Chapter 4: Portion control and weight management

Advanced feeding starts with knowing exactly how much your cat needs. Most indoor cats in Malaysia with limited exercise need measured meals rather than free-feeding, especially with dry kibble left out all day in humid weather. Weigh portions with a kitchen scale and adjust by body condition score, not by the number printed on the bag. Recheck your cat's shape monthly: ribs should be easily felt but not visible, and the waist clear from above.
