Chapter 4: Feeding and Water in Hot Weather
Malaysian weather is warm and humid year-round, so pets drink more and food stale faster. Buy kibble in portions you can finish within a few weeks, seal it in an airtight container and keep it away from sunlight and the floor. Check that it still smells fresh before each meal, and do not leave wet food sitting in the bowl for long in the heat.
Set out several bowls of fresh, clean water around the home and refresh them at least twice daily. If your pet suddenly stops eating after a hot day or a stressful event, offer smaller portions and watch for a full day before contacting your vet.
