Chapter 3: Orijen — High-Protein Natural
Orijen is a Canadian brand built around the idea of biologically appropriate, meat-rich recipes with a wide variety of animal ingredients and minimal carbohydrate. It appeals to owners who want to feed closer to a ancestral diet and are willing to pay for imported quality. In Malaysia, the practical considerations matter as much as the philosophy. High-protein, high-fat foods suit active pets but are not automatically right for every animal, particularly those with certain kidney or pancreatic concerns — discuss with your vet before switching. Imported stock can sit in warm conditions, so check expiry dates and buy from retailers with good turnover. Some dogs and cats thrive on it; others do better on a moderate formula. Judge by body condition, stool quality, coat, and energy over eight to twelve weeks, not by the first week.
