This formula answers that call comprehensively. Experts recommend looking for dog foods with named protein sources as the first ingredient, a standard this Brit formula meets emphatically. Beyond the core macronutrients, the added functional ingredients transform this from a basic kibble into a supportive nutritional strategy. The salmon oil contributes essential fatty acids, the prebiotics foster a healthy gut, and the herbal antioxidants work to bolster the immune system. Key Nutritional Profile & Ingredient Analysis
The nutritional foundation of Brit Premium By Nature is built on high-quality, digestible ingredients that provide balanced energy and essential nutrients. A closer look at the guaranteed analysis and ingredient list reveals a thoughtfully constructed recipe.
The primary ingredient, dehydrated chicken at 45%, ensures a high protein content of 26.0%. This protein is not only abundant but also highly bioavailable, meaning a dog's body can efficiently use it for muscle repair and energy. The fat level is 15.0%, providing a dense energy source for active dogs, while the fiber content of 2.2% supports healthy digestion. The inclusion of oats offers a source of complex carbohydrates for sustained energy release.

Beyond the macronutrients, the functional ingredients are what truly define this formula. Hydrolyzed chicken liver enhances palatability, ensuring dogs find the food appealing. Brewer's yeast is a natural source of B-vitamins. The carefully selected grain inclusion of wheat and corn provides energy, though pet owners with dogs sensitive to these grains should note their presence. The overall composition is designed for excellent digestibility, which means more nutrients are absorbed and less waste is produced, a key indicator of a high-quality diet.
How Brit Premium By Nature Supports Joint Health
Brit Premium By Nature Adult Medium Breed Chicken Formula provides dedicated nutritional support for joint and cartilage health through a specific combination of key compounds. Active medium-sized dogs are often susceptible to wear and tear on their joints, making proactive care essential for maintaining mobility and comfort throughout their adult years. This formula incorporates collagen, glucosamine at 210 mg/kg, and chondroitin sulfate at 150 mg/kg, which are fundamental building blocks for healthy cartilage and synovial fluid.
Glucosamine is a natural compound that helps stimulate the production of glycosaminoglycans, crucial for cartilage repair and maintenance. Chondroitin sulfate works synergistically by attracting fluid into the cartilage, providing cushioning and shock absorption for the joints. The inclusion of collagen further supports the structural integrity of connective tissues. This targeted approach helps maintain joint flexibility and can contribute to long-term joint comfort, potentially reducing the need for separate supplements. For breeds like Border Collies, Australian Shepherds, or Spaniels that are both energetic and within the 10-25 kg range, this built-in joint support is a significant benefit of the Brit Premium By Nature recipe.
Skin, Coat, and Digestive Benefits Explained
The inclusion of 2% salmon oil in Brit Premium By Nature delivers essential Omega-3 fatty acids that are crucial for maintaining healthy skin and a lustrous coat. Omega-3s, specifically EPA and DHA, help nourish the skin from within, supporting the skin's barrier function and reducing dryness and flakiness. This internal nutrition often results in a visibly shinier, softer coat and can help minimize excessive shedding. The formula maintains a balanced Omega-6 to Omega-3 ratio to promote optimal skin health.
For digestive wellness, Brit incorporates a blend of prebiotics and natural extracts. Mannan-oligosaccharides (MOS) and fructo-oligosaccharides (FOS) act as prebiotics, nourishing the beneficial bacteria in the gut to promote a balanced microbiome and healthy stool quality. Yucca schidigera extract is included for its ability to help reduce stool odor. This focus on digestive health ensures that the high-quality nutrients in the food are properly absorbed, maximizing the benefits for your dog while promoting regular digestion and manageable waste.
The Power of Natural Herbs for Immunity in Brit Dog Food
Brit Premium By Nature sets itself apart with a unique "Natural Herbal Immunity" blend, featuring botanicals like chamomile, blueberries, turmeric, cloves, citrus, and rosemary. This herbal complex provides powerful antioxidant support to help boost a dog's natural defenses. Antioxidants are vital for neutralizing free radicals—unstable molecules that can cause oxidative stress and cell damage.
Each herb brings specific benefits. Turmeric contains curcumin, known for its anti-inflammatory properties. Blueberries are rich in anthocyanins, potent antioxidants. Chamomile offers gentle calming properties, while rosemary and citrus provide additional antioxidant support. This holistic, natural approach to supporting the immune system complements the physical nutrition provided by proteins and fats. By incorporating these functional botanicals, Brit Premium By Nature aims to support a dog's overall constitution and resilience, contributing to long-term vitality and well-being as part of a complete daily diet.

Feeding Guide & Transition Instructions for Brit Premium
Proper feeding and a gradual transition are key to your dog's success with any new diet. The feeding amount for Brit Premium By Nature Adult Medium Breed Chicken Formula depends on your dog's ideal weight and activity level. As a general guideline, a dog weighing 15 kg with a normal activity level would require approximately 190-255 grams of food per day. It is crucial to adjust portions based on your dog's individual metabolism, age, and exercise routine to maintain an optimal body condition. Fresh, clean water should always be available.
When switching to Brit Premium By Nature from another food, a gradual transition over 7-10 days is strongly recommended to prevent gastrointestinal upset. Start by mixing 25% of the new Brit food with 75% of your dog's current food for 2-3 days. Then, increase to a 50/50 mix for another 2-3 days, followed by 75% new food to 25% old food. Finally, complete the switch to 100% Brit Premium By Nature. Closely monitor your dog's appetite and stool consistency throughout this process. Store the 15 kg bag in a cool, dry place, and consider using an airtight container after opening to maintain freshness and prevent the fats from oxidizing.
Why Choose Brit Premium By Nature Over Other Brands
Choosing Brit Premium By Nature Adult Medium Breed Chicken Formula offers several distinct advantages in the crowded premium dog food market. First, its commitment to a high, single-animal protein source—45% dehydrated chicken—provides exceptional protein quality and digestibility. Second, the inclusion of specified levels of joint-support ingredients (glucosamine and chondroitin) is a proactive feature not always present in standard adult maintenance foods. Third, the unique blend of natural herbs and prebiotics offers holistic support for immunity and digestion that goes beyond basic nutrition.
Furthermore, its European origin from the Czech Republic, with a focus on non-GMO ingredients and the exclusion of soy, appeals to owners seeking transparency and specific quality standards. When compared to other premium brands, Brit Premium By Nature often presents a compelling value proposition. The high nutrient density and digestibility can mean feeding slightly smaller portions, extending the life of the 15 kg bag. For the owner of a medium-sized dog who wants a complete, feature-rich diet that addresses joint health, skin and coat quality, and overall vitality without needing multiple separate supplements, this formula represents a convenient and effective all-in-one nutritional solution.
