CICI offers 15 cat litter products under its PASIR KUCING line, available in 5L, 10L and 20kg formats and five scents: Lemon, Lavender, Kopi, Baby Powder and Apple. This guide helps Malaysian cat owners choose the right size and scent for their home, climate and cat's preferences.
Why CICI Cat Litter Suits Malaysian Homes
Malaysia's hot and humid weather can make litter odour control a challenge. CICI PASIR KUCING is available in five scents—Lemon, Lavender, Kopi, Baby Powder and Apple—which can help manage litter box odours. The range includes three formats: 5L, 10L and 20kg, so you can match the litter quantity to your cat's usage and your storage space.
For apartment dwellers, the smaller 5L and 10L packs are easier to carry and store, while the 20kg format is more economical for multi-cat households or those with space for bulk storage. All CICI litter products are found under the Cats > Cat litter > CICI category on PetChill, making it simple to browse the full range.
It's important to note that CICI cat litter is a pet product, not a medical treatment. If your cat has any health concerns, consult a veterinarian.
Understanding the CICI PASIR KUCING Range
The CICI PASIR KUCING line consists of 15 products. These are combinations of five scents and three formats. The 5L and 10L packs are available in all five scents, while the 20kg format is also offered in all five scents. This means you can choose your preferred scent and then select the size that fits your needs.
The 5L pack is ideal for single-cat households or for trying a new scent. The 10L pack offers a middle ground, and the 20kg pack is best for multi-cat homes or frequent litter changes. All formats are listed under the CICI brand hub on PetChill, where you can see the full selection.
CICI litter is designed for cats, and the brand also offers dog products under the PARIE line, which you can explore in the Dog nutrition and health products category. However, this guide focuses on cat litter.
Choosing the Right Scent for Your Cat
Cats are sensitive to smells, so the scent you choose can affect whether your cat uses the litter box. CICI offers five options: Lemon, Lavender, Kopi, Baby Powder and Apple. Each scent may appeal differently to cats and owners.
Lemon and Apple provide a fresh, fruity aroma that can help mask odours. Lavender offers a floral scent, while Baby Powder provides a soft, clean fragrance. Kopi (coffee) is a popular choice for its ability to neutralise odours. When introducing a new scent, monitor your cat's behaviour; if your cat avoids the litter box, try a different scent.
Remember that scent preference is individual. Some cats may be sensitive to strong fragrances, so it's wise to start with a smaller pack like the 5L to test acceptance before committing to a larger size.
Size and Storage: 5L vs 10L vs 20kg
The format you choose depends on your cat's litter habits and your storage capacity. The 5L pack is compact and easy to store in small apartments. It's also convenient for travel or for keeping a spare pack in the car. The 10L pack is a good middle option for single-cat households that change litter regularly.
The 20kg pack is the most economical for multi-cat homes or for those who prefer fewer shopping trips. However, it requires more storage space and may be heavy to carry. In Malaysia's humid climate, store litter in a dry place to prevent moisture absorption. Keep the pack sealed when not in use.
Consider how often you change the litter. If you scoop daily and change completely every week or two, a larger pack may last longer. For occasional use or small spaces, smaller packs are more practical.
Litter Box Maintenance in Humid Weather
In Malaysia's heat and humidity, litter boxes can become breeding grounds for bacteria and odour. Scoop solid waste daily and stir the litter to help it dry evenly. Replace the litter completely according to the product instructions or when odour persists.
Choose a litter box with good ventilation and place it in a well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight. If you use a scented litter like CICI, the scent can help control odours, but it's not a substitute for regular cleaning. Wash the litter box with mild soap and water and dry it thoroughly before refilling.
If you notice any signs of illness in your cat, such as changes in litter box habits, consult your veterinarian. Litter box avoidance can indicate medical issues.
