Chapter 8: Handling vet visits and carrier stress

Many cats form negative associations with carriers, clinics and car rides. Leave the carrier open in the living room as a permanent resting spot and feed meals inside it, turning it into a safe space rather than a trap. On visit day, avoid fasting unless your vet specifically asks, and use a familiar blanket carrying the cat's scent. Ask the clinic for a quiet waiting area or appointment times outside the weekend rush, which is common in busy Malaysian areas.
