Chapter 9: Bringing a new cat home

Prepare one quiet room first with a litter box, food, water and a hiding spot. Let your new cat explore gradually instead of opening the whole house at once. This is especially useful in Malaysian homes with multiple floors, loud fans or busy family members. Keep other pets separated until introductions are slow and supervised. Expect a few days of hiding or reduced appetite as the cat settles. Patience in the first week makes a big difference.
