Chapter 10: Supplements, oils and kitchen add-ins
Supplements can help, but they can also undo a careful diet. Fish oil, glucosamine and probiotics are popular here, yet most balanced foods already cover baseline needs. Add only what your vet recommends after bloodwork or a joint check, especially for large breeds that slow down in our heat and humidity. Keep a written log of every product and dose for follow-ups. Kitchen add-ins like raw eggs or milk count as food, so subtract them from the daily allowance, and store bottles away from direct sun and cooking steam.
