Chapter 7: Hydration: why wet food matters for your cat's kidneys

Cats naturally have a low thirst drive, which is why many owners in Malaysia rely on dry food alone and end up with dehydrated pets. Wet food contains a high percentage of water and helps support kidney and urinary tract health. Keep a fresh water bowl away from the food and litter areas, and refresh it daily. Some cats prefer running water from a pet fountain. If your cat suddenly drinks much more or much less than usual, consult a vet, as this can signal an underlying health issue.
